Shanghai is the largest city in China, also the largest city in the world. Shanghai is a city full of entertainment, culture, cuisine and luxury. You will definitely feel the strong Chinese vibe also it also has lots of western culture emerged into this beautiful city.
China has changed a lot after the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Shanghai is one of the cities that is growing so rapidly with the economy. If you are planning to go to Shanghai, here are the travel advices for you.
- • The Oriental Pearl Tower – it was the tallest building in China from 1994 – 2007, and China is currently building a few taller buildings in Shanghai and other provinces. You may go to the upper sphere to see the whole Shanghai Pudong view.
- • Nanjing road – the most famous road in the main downtown of Shanghai. It is a pedestrian street. You can find lots of traditional Shanghainese cuisine and street performance along the street
- • People’s Square – after going to Nanjing Road, you can take a walk at the People’s Square park nearby. This park is surrounded by mall shopping malls, you can clear your shopping list over there
- • The Bund – perfect location for night view, you can see all the main buildings (e.g. HSBC, Peace Hotel) with different architectural style. You can also go for a short junk trip along Huangpu river
- • Transportation – taxi is very reasonable in China and they are quite easy to catch one, otherwise you may take the train to experience the local culture
- • Cuisine – Shanghainese cuisine is very famous around the world, “Xiaolongbao” is a must to eat in Shanghai, as well as a wide variety of street food. Highly recommending restaurant called “Jade Garden” and “South Beauty”
p.s. if you are staying in Shanghai for more than 1 week, you may join the local tour to go to Suzhou, Hangzhou. Moreover, you can take a train and stay in Beijing for a few days.
