If you are planning to go to Macau, you can choose to fly directly to Macau or you can catch a speedboat from Hong Kong, which only takes 1 hour.
Macau was a Portuguese colony since 1887 until 20 December 2009, therefore you may find a lot of Portuguese culture and people there. Macau is one of the two special administrative regions of the People’s Republic of China.
The most famous activity in Macau must be gambling. It is recognized as Asia Las Vegas. You can see casino in almost every corner in Macau. However, I am going to introduce you other activities that you can find in Macau.
- • Night view from Macau Tower - if you are daring to do bungee jump, you can go to the top floor for the world’s highest 233 meter bungee jump.
- • Ruins of St. Paul’s – it is the 17th century Portuguese cathedral dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. It is also the most famous tourist spot in Macau. Next to Ruin of St. Paul’s there are lots of shops selling souvenirs, and you are more than welcome to just go and try all the traditional Macau snacks.
- • Ma Temple- which honours the Goddess Matsu, many Chinese festivals and activities are held here from April to December.
- • Venetian Macau – it was the second largest building in the world in 2007. You can try the Gondola (water taxi) inside the Venetian mall.
- • Cuisine – I would recommend you to try Portuguese food if you haven’t, otherwise you can choose to have some shark fins at some of the famous Chinese restaurant near Ruins of St. Paul’s or go to Macau Lan Kwai Fong.
- • Transportation – taxi price is quite reasonable in Macau, though it is a big hard to catch a taxi with all the casino surrounding areas. You may try to catch a local bus which is fairly easy to understand and local people are mostly kind.
Hope you like my Macau review, if you have any questions or recommendations, please leave a comment below, thank you.
