Apptivity is by Mattel who is trying to merge virtual gaming world with physical objects. Player can use Apptivity to interact with particularly iPad screen.
Users need to place Apptivity like Fruit Ninja or Cut the Rope on the iPad screen to have a more physical game experience. Tester said sometimes it is a bit tricky to find the sensitive spot on the Apptivity and it takes practice to master it. Apptivity will be ready for every one in Apple Store in May with Hot Wheel, it costs $20 which is quite reasonable. Other games like WWE, Fruit Ninja and Cut the Rope are coming up in July.
This is a big step for a completely new gaming experience, we are hoping to have a hand-on sooner and a more dynamic feature like a transformable object to match with the tasks in game.
